About Stuart Street Consulting

The restaurant and service industry has been a guiding force in my life for over 25 years. The only real jobs that I have had since the age of 13 have been in restaurants and food service. After putting myself through school by learning the trade, I moved to Colorado where I spent 10 years as a chef at some of the better restaurants in the mountains. In 2002 I moved down to Denver with the intention of opening my own restaurant. In August of 2002 Coral Room opened its doors and has been running successfully ever since.

My strong back of the house experience and understanding of numbers can be extremely helpful for any restaurant owner looking to either turn things around or get a push in the right direction to maximize profits. Having been involved directly with opening several restaurants, my knowledge and local connections can help a start up restaurant save thousands of dollars during the critical early months. The design of a cost effective menu that is in line with the restaurant or bar’s style, is critical to success in this industry. Efficiency is the only way to be successful in this sometimes brutal industry. I can help stream line your systems and ensure a smooth running operation.

I have been in the restaurant and catering industry for twenty-five years, and truly enjoy working within the dynamic relationship that exists between a restaurant and its customers. I have an extensive knowledge of wines, beers and spirits. My experience in the industry has also allowed for a great understanding of various menus types and world cuisine. My management roles have required me to train and assist servers and bartenders in the use of computer systems, service techniques and up-selling. I consistently strive to maintain a high level of efficiency in all aspects of the business. Over the years I have successfully teamed with chefs and business owners to minimize food costs and maximize ease of food preparation.

Since living and working in Colorado for the past 20 years I’ve come to know a vast number of people in the industry, and have many contacts from all facets of the hospitality industry. My three-year tenure as the Wynkoop Brewing Company’s banquet director gave me great insight into the convention and visitor business Denver has and what that client base is looking for in a “Colorado experience”. I look forward sharing my experience with you.
